Les Mains Au Bout Du Fil

Les Mains Au Bout Du Fil (Canada), 2015 - 25 min.

Too often, ageing is devalued and associated simply with the declining or loss of autonomy. Similarly, deafness is generally seen as something missing or as disability. However, many people who identify themselves as Deaf are proud to belong to a community and to share a different culture through a Sign Language. "Hands on the Phone" explores the intersections of aging, technology and deafness, focusing on the views of four Deaf older people who use Quebec Sign Language and American Sign Language.
